Safety at Quizzy
Quizzy runs in classrooms, at kids’ parties and in workplaces, often on a projector in front of the whole room. So we treat what appears on screen as our responsibility, not just yours. This page says exactly what we check, how, and what you can do when something gets through.
Short answer
Is Quizzy safe for kids and classrooms?
Yes. Quizzy is designed for rooms with children in them:
- Students join without accounts or email addresses.
- Text is filtered, and teachers can’t switch the filter off.
- Every new image is checked by AI before it can appear.
- Any player can report content, which hides it from the room immediately.
- Teachers can remove a disruptive player for the rest of the game.
Players never make an account
Students and players join with a game code and a nickname.
They don’t sign up, give an email address or install an app. There are no ads in Quizzy, and we don’t sell data.
Text is filtered, and the filter can’t be switched off
We check player nicknames, questions, answer options and accepted answers before they reach the screen.
Anything flagged is held for the host to review instead of appearing for everyone. No setting turns this filter off.
Our word list covers every language Quizzy supports. Spotting hateful sentences built from ordinary words (“I hate [group]”) works in English only for now. In other languages, the word list is the safeguard.
Every image is checked before it’s added
When you add an image to a quiz, an AI vision check looks at it before it can appear on anyone’s screen.
It looks for:
- sexual content
- content involving minors
- violence or gore
- hate symbols or slurs
- self-harm
- drug use
Blocked images can’t be used. We remove them from public view straight away.
Content involving minors is always blocked and deleted. There is no override and no appeal for this category.
Some images need a second look. A swimsuit photo for a beach quiz, say, or a war photo for a history lesson. A signed-in host can choose to use these, and we record who approved each one.
Anyone in the room can report
Every player has a clearly labelled Report button.
A report hides the content immediately for everyone in the game, including on the TV. The host can remove a player, and that player can’t rejoin the same game. Every report reaches our team, and we act on every report within 24 hours.
If we get it wrong
Automated checks make mistakes in both directions.
If we blocked an image you believe is fine, sign in and ask for a review. A person looks at it and emails you the decision.
What we don’t promise
No automated check is perfect, and we won’t claim ours is.
Hosts are responsible for the quizzes they run. If you’re running a quiz for children, check it first: Review Questions in the lobby shows every question before anyone joins.
