Fix connection problems

If your lobby says “Players can’t join right now”, your game can’t reach Quizzy’s game server. The notice says why. Here’s how to fix each cause.

Players’ phones reach your game through Quizzy’s game server. When your computer can’t connect to it, the lobby shows Players can’t join right now, the likeliest reason, and what to do. Quizzy keeps trying by itself. When it works, the notice changes to Connected. Players can join now. Your game code stays the same.

On a school or office network

Networks run by schools and companies often block game servers. Switch to another network, such as your phone’s hotspot, then tap Try again. For a lasting fix, send your IT team Allow Quizzy on a school or office network. It lists what to allow.

With an ad blocker, VPN or antivirus

Ad and tracker blockers, privacy extensions, VPNs and some antivirus apps can block live connections. Turn them off for quizzy.earth, or try another browser, then tap Try again.

When the device is offline

Reconnect to Wi‑Fi or mobile data. Your game reconnects by itself.

When Quizzy’s game server is down

If the notice says it’s not your network, the problem is on our side. Keep the page open. Your game reconnects as soon as the server is back.

Before a big event, open your lobby on the network you’ll use and check that a phone can join.
