Import questions from a spreadsheet

In Add questions, tap “Have a spreadsheet? Import a file”, then drop in an Excel, CSV or JSON file. Check the questions and tap Import.

Updated October 15th, 2026

Importing works on every plan, including free.

  1. 1

    Choose to import a file

On your host screen at quizzy.earth/host, tap Questions, then Add questions. Below the four tiles, tap Have a spreadsheet? Import a file.

  2. 2

    Get the example file

Tap Download example file for a spreadsheet with the columns Quizzy reads and sample questions.

  3. 3

    Upload your file

Drag your file onto the upload box, or tap the box to pick it. Excel, CSV and JSON work, up to 5MB and 1,000 questions.

  4. 4

    Check the questions

Quizzy marks any question with errors or warnings. Tap Remove on any you don’t want.

  5. 5

    Add them to your game

Tap Import. The questions join your game’s question list.

Which columns does the file need?

One question per row, with a question, two to four options, and the right answer in “Correct Answer” as a letter, such as B, or the option’s full text. The full set of columns is Question, Option A to Option D, Correct Answer, Did You Know, Explanation and Image URL.

Can I reuse questions from a quiz I’ve saved?

Yes. Its card in Saved Quizzes has Download CSV, which saves a spreadsheet you can edit and import again.
